Trek to the highest Shiva temple in the world and watch the sun rise over a wall of Himalayan peaks from Chandrashila.
The Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila Tour Package From Delhi is one of the most rewarding short treks in Uttarakhand. Chopta, often called the mini Switzerland of India, is a meadow at about 2,700 metres in the Rudraprayag district, surrounded by forests of oak, rhododendron and deodar. From here a well paved trail climbs to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world and one of the Panch Kedar.
Above Tungnath lies the Chandrashila summit at around 4,000 metres, where a 360 degree view opens up over Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedarnath, Chaukhamba and Bandarpunch. The trek is about 3.5 km to Tungnath and another 1.5 km to Chandrashila, which makes it achievable for beginners with basic fitness. Our team plans an overnight halt on the way, a comfortable stay in Chopta and an early start for the summit. This Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila tour package from Delhi is a favourite with friends and young couples.
Want to add snow slopes? Our Chopta Auli tour package continues the journey to Auli.

April to June and September to December are the best months for the Chopta Tungnath Chandrashila Tour Package From Delhi. Spring brings blooming rhododendrons, while autumn gives the clearest mountain views. From late December to March, the trail is covered in snow, which makes a beautiful winter trek but requires good gear. Tungnath temple usually closes for winter around Diwali, though the trek itself remains possible.
Chopta is reached by road from Delhi via Haridwar, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Rudraprayag and Ukhimath. The nearest railway stations are Haridwar and Rishikesh, and the nearest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun, about 220 km away. We recommend breaking the journey with a night in Rishikesh, as the mountain road beyond Rudraprayag is narrow and takes time.
